Short biography of Bosch

Hieronymus Bosch was a Dutch painter and it is believed that he was trained by his father, also a painter by trade.

It seems that he always lived and worked at his birthplace, Hertogenbosh, Netherlands.

There are only about 40 pieces known to be his with absolute surety, he was always successful and lived well. Bosch was a favourite of Philip II (Felipe II ), the King of Spain which is why a high percentage of his work resides in Spain. The genius originality of Bosch ( Bosco ) consists of creating a world of fantasy, loaded with symbolism, (not always understood ) however, with richness of forms and colours. In his time and now his imagination surpasses most, if not all the surrealist painters, which for most of them Bosch ( Bosco ) is their most illustrious ancestor.
